Greipel in charge in Luxembourg

Andre Greipel continued his dominant streak to claim sprint victory on stage one at the Tour de Luxembourg.

The German (Lotto-Belisol) backed up three stage wins at the Tour of Belgium with another success, besting the bunch sprint into Hesperange on the first road stage of the event.
Greipel kicked on the right-hand side of the road in the final metres and held off Team Sky’s Davide Appollonio and Samuel Dumoulin (Cofidis) on the line.
Jens Voigt (RadioShack-Nissan) chanced his arm with a brave move in the closing stages but was shut down on the final lap of the finishing circuit by a bunch not intent to let the veteran go clear.
With no time bonuses available on the line the bunch kick allowed Frenchman Jimmy Engoulvent (Saur-Sojasun) to remain the leader’s yellow jersey by four seconds.
